Dean, School of Engineering and Architecture

The School of Engineering & Architecture (SOEA) family and the Saint Mary’s University Campus Ministry spearheaded the blessing ceremony of the SMU-SOEA Jubilee Marker/Stage last July 1, 2010.

The blessing ceremony was officiated by the University President, Rev. Fr. Renillo H. Sta. Ana, CICM, and he was assisted by the University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Pedro Dulnuan, CICM.

The said ceremony was participated by the SMU Vice Presidents, Academic and Administrative Deans, some SMU Heads of Offices, some of the Engineering Alumni officers and Advisers, the SOEA faculty and staff members, and some SOEA students.

The stage/marker was one of the project undertakings which the Engineering Alumni Association pursued in celebration of the 50th Founding Anniversary of the School of Engineering and Architecture (SOEA) in December 10, 2005. They constructed the stage/marker as a testament of their profound gratitude to Saint Mary’s University (SMU), their Alma Mater. The said stage/marker also serves as a modest tribute to the founder of SMU-SOEA, Engr. Ruperto A. Bayabos, Sr.

The construction of the marker/stage was started by the previous Alumni Officers headed by the previous Alumni President, Engr. Edilberto Carabbacan, and the finishing work/phase was done by the current alumni officers headed by the President, Engr. Vicente Galvez.

The SOEA family wishes to thank the Alumni Officers for constructing the marker/stage which could be used conveniently by the students, faculty and staff during programs where it could be deemed useful. They would also like to thank all of those who came to join the celebration/blessing ceremony…and to the University President for having officiated the blessing ceremony… and to the Campus Ministry who helped them organize the blessing ceremony…
